Before and After

Before…

and after…

Shackleton’s Way

I recently listened to the story of Sir Ernest Shackleton in Shackleton’s Way on CD.

It’s an amazing story of how he led a team of socially and intellectually diverse men through tough, life-and-death situations using a type of leadership that would grace any boardroom in the world.

And that’s the point of the CD/book, really. [...]

Frosties

Our 5-year-old was watching an exciting, up-beat advert for Kellogg’s Frosties, ending with the inevitable, “Can we get some of those, dad?”

When I told him that we already had some Frosties in the cupboard, he said, “No, I want Frosties like the ones on the TV.”

Not the best game I’ve ever seen, but not bad either. Good to see Bellamy scoring for Liverpool.

The BBC site said that Liverpool waived their share of the gate proceeds, and with a gate of over 11,000 that’s quite a deal for Wrexham.

The tunnel is a footpath about the width of 4 adults, so [...]

World Cup

Unsurprisingly, England are out. Yes, Sven was rubbish. Yes, Lampard was woeful.

And yes, we’ll do it all again next time.

Even better, perhaps Wales might actually qualify for something. Toshack’s got a long way to go there, though.

Thornton Hough Scarecrow Festival

Not sure why I enjoy this as much as I do. I think it’s the bizarre English quaintness of it all.

Perhaps the wierdest thing of all (for me) is that my Scarecrow Galleries get more hits than any other part of JonesTheNet.com.
